There are 2 main causes of incorrectly orientated content.

  1. The TV was mounted upside down
    1. IF mounted Portrait the TV was rotated 90 Degrees Counter-clockwise
    2. Reality requests TVs to be mounted 90 Degrees Clockwise in order for our portrait content to be displayed correctly
  2. The content is in an incorrect orientation in the DSP Portal

Corrective measures

  1. If the Installer is still onsite the preferred method is to have them rotate the TV 90 Degrees Clockwise
    1. This method will help prevent any issues when we
  2. Place the Media Player orientation in (Flipped) - This only works if the player is online
    1. Sign into the DSP Portal
    2. Locate the Media Player
    3. Go to the Player Details
    4. Click on the Orientation
    5. Select the correct Orientation
    6. Click Save
    7. Click Save on the Player


Last Corrective option - has known to cause issues

Use photo editing software to rotate the image/video 180 Degrees.

This has been known to cause issues when there is a content update being performed, if the person performing the update is unaware of the special situation, image/video being rotated in photo editing software prior to deploying, when the update is processed on the player the update will appear upside down.
